Milk

It is about time that Harvey Milk, the civil rights pioneer, has been recognized by Hollywood. With an all-star cast that includes Sean Penn, James Franco, Emile Hirsch, Josh Brolin and Diego Luna, this fim is screaming Oscar. Directed by visionary Gus van Sant.

Menswear Influence

I'm so glad menswear inspired pieces are in style now - it's really a trend I can get behind. It's such an effortless look that channels the ever cool Annie Hall vibe. A more severe take on the trend is formal wear reinterpreted: the tuxedo. Black and white, crisp and cool, here are some pieces that achieve the look:
(For extra oomph add a leather jacket and fierce footwear)

Nu Collective blouse, Silence & Noise tank, D&G chiffon blouse, Urban Outfitters suspenders, JCrew classic oxford, Gap tuxedo vest, Jonathan Saunders for Target ponte pants, Alice + Olivia wide-leg trouser, Marc by Marc Jacobs pencil skirt with zipper detail, Miu Miu cut-out wool pencil skirt, Miu Miu belted pencil skirt, 3.1 Phillip Lim ruffle skirt, Miu Miu full mini skirt, Marc by Marc skull pendant, Miu Miu belt with crystal buckle, Bottega Veneta woven frame clutch, Marc Jacobs crystal cocktail ring
